This End User License Agreement ("EULA") is a legal agreement between you and Dominik Ficek ("Licensor") for the Research Assistant desktop application ("Application"). By installing or using the Application you accept this EULA.
The Application is offered under two licence types. Both are non-exclusive, non-transferable, and perpetual, and permit installation and use on computers you personally own or control, subject to compliance with this EULA:
"Commercial, professional, or academic use" includes, without limitation, use in the course of employment or self-employment, use by or on behalf of a company, public body, or other organisation, and use in funded or institutional academic research. If you are unsure which licence applies to you, contact the Licensor before use.
You may not:
Each licence covers the current major version of the Application and all minor and patch updates within that major version, delivered through the authenticated update mechanism. Future major versions may require a new purchase for Professional Licence holders.
The Application incorporates third-party components that are licensed separately from this EULA, including the Qt framework (used under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3), the XITS math font (SIL Open Font License 1.1), the bge-small-en-v1.5 embedding model (MIT), and numerous Rust libraries (MIT / Apache-2.0). Each such component remains governed by its own licence, which takes precedence over this EULA with respect to that component.
Qt is dynamically linked. As required by the LGPL, you may replace the bundled Qt libraries with compatible versions for your own use; the corresponding Qt source code is available from qt.io. Full attributions and licence texts are provided in the THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES file distributed with the Application and accessible from its About screen.
The Application is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Licensor disclaims all warranties. Nothing here limits statutory warranties you have as a consumer under Czech law (Act No. 89/2012 Coll., Civil Code) or EU Directive 2019/770 on digital content and digital services.
The Licensor's total liability under this EULA shall not exceed the licence fee you paid. The Licensor is not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
This licence terminates automatically if you breach its terms. On termination you must cease use and delete all copies of the Application.
This EULA is governed by the law of the Czech Republic.
