Research Assistant is operated by Dominik Ficek, Czech Republic (dominik.ficek@email.cz). By creating an account or using this service you agree to these terms.
Research Assistant consists of a web platform (research-assistant.me) and a companion desktop application for macOS, Windows, and Linux. The web platform provides account management, licensing, and update delivery. The desktop application is the primary user-facing product.
A one-time payment grants you a perpetual, personal, non-transferable licence to use the desktop application (see the End User License Agreement). Payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited, who acts as Merchant of Record. Your contract of sale is with Paddle, not with Dominik Ficek. Paddle's own terms and privacy policy apply to the payment transaction.
You may not:
All rights in the service, including the desktop application, website content, and branding, are owned by Dominik Ficek unless attributed to third parties. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes where practicable.
The service is provided "as is". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these terms limits statutory rights you have as a consumer under Czech law or EU consumer protection legislation.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the service will not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
You may close your account at any time by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account for material breach of these terms after giving you an opportunity to remedy the breach.
These terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer in the EU, you also retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence and may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be communicated by e-mail to registered users at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
